Golden Grad Reunion

Murrow College – Welcomes 1949 and 1959 graduates back to campus

During the April 29 WSU Alumni Association’s annual Golden and Diamond Graduate Reunion activities on campus, the Murrow College (department at the time the returning graduates attended WSU) hosted seven graduates and their spouses from the classes of 1949 and 1959 who returned to celebrate.

The college welcomed them with a luncheon with Dean Erica Austin, followed by a Murrow Legacy presentation by instructor Mark Wadleigh and a tour by Randy McCune, chief broadcast engineer.

Several of the alumni reminisced about their College days, with one sharing her personal experience of getting to know Ed Murrow. Six of those who participated in the reunion luncheon have supported the Murrow College with annual donations for at least 17 years or as long as 29 years!

Later in the day, President Elson S. Floyd, Dean Austin and others welcomed the graduates at a reception in the Lewis Alumni Centre.
