NBC News Specials
Internships year around
NBC News internship opportunities give students real world experience and exposure to one of the world's leading media companies in the development and production of news. Internships are the perfect way to gain experience while learning what a career at NBC News might hold in store for you.
As a company we highly value the chance to provide students with these amazing opportunities and consider the use of interns an important recruiting tool for our organization. It provides students with a platform to showcase and develop their many talents, skills, and experiences, and allows NBC Universal to identify high potential top talent for the many future career opportunities available at NBC Universal.
In addition to the experience gained from the internship itself, we provide various sessions throughout the semester to further develop students professionally and expose them to our senior leadership.
The NBC News Specials unit covers breaking news and live events, including long-term political stories. Interns work directly with producers to research stories, prepare graphics, coordinate logistics, and screen tapes. The Specials unit provides an ideal working environment for students who are self-motivated and comfortable working on projects independently.
Strong problem-solving skills are also crucial for anyone applying for this internship. Because of the unpredictable and exciting nature of breaking news stories, this is a great opportunity for someone who likes to think on his or her feet and wants to work in a setting where each day is different. Computer skills are a plus.
Please email Elizabeth Pearson-McLaughlin at Elizabeth.Pearson-McLaughlin@nbcuni.com ASAP with your availability, resume and cover letter. Interns will be interviewed and accepted on a rolling basis.
