PaXIM Conference

May 20-23, 2007
Washington State University

PaXIM is a collaboration of scholars and communicators world-wide engaged in interdisciplinary pursuits to address how communication practices contribute to the production and perpetuation of violent conflict around the globe. This first PaXIM Conference seeks to expand the number of participating researchers and students and to increase exchange among them to advance collaborative projects on intercultural and international peace. The three-day conference will include small group presentations and dialogue, workshops, and a keynote address by Dr. Danny Schechter.

The PaXIM Conference is supported in part through grants and contributions from the WSU Office of Research, the Canadian Consulate’s Canadian Studies Program, the WSU Office of International Programs, the College of Liberal Arts, WSU’s Thomas Foley Institute, the E.R. Murrow School of Communication, and the departments of American Studies, History, Sociology, and Women’s Studies.
