Joyce Szymanski has more than 25 years of marketing and communication experience specifically in product and services strategy development, product positioning, market segmentation, public relations, and event management.
She is currently the Product Marketing Manager for Global Services for Physio-Control, Inc. in Redmond, Washington. She identifies and develops new professional service products and creates marketing programs to drive demand for current service offerings. She has also held company positions as Market Segment Manager, Strategic Communications Manager and Public Relations Manager.
Before joining Physio-Control in January of 2004, she served as Vice President of Healy Communications, a boutique marketing communications agency in Chicago. Szymanski worked five years with Chicago-based public relations firm Margie Korshak, Inc. While there, she managed the agency’s largest account—McDonald’s Owners of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. She also supervised the agency’s sports marketing department that included clients such as the Mrs. T’s Chicago Triathlon and Chicagoland Golden Gloves Boxing.
Before Margie Korshak, Inc., Szymanski was Director of Marketing for Barclay Communications in Phoenix. She created the agency’s consumer public relations department and managed accounts such as the Hard Rock Café, Sandusky Broadcasting and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix.
Prior to joining Barclay, Szymanski was Director of Public Relations for the Harlem Globetrotters. Previously, she was a media relations assistant for the Chicago Bulls. While with the Bulls she coordinated and organized press information for two NBA All-Star Games and three NBA Finals.
She is Past Chair of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication Professional Advisory Board and received a B.A., Communication from Washington State University in 1986.
